Mobile mechanic, roadside assistance and technical vehicle support
From a warning light on the driveway to complex fault-finding for a dealer, auction site or fleet, we bring diagnostics, repairs and technical support to the vehicle. We work on cars, vans, hybrids and EVs for private motorists and trade customers.
Garage-level capability without taking the vehicle to a garage
We attend at home, work or roadside and deal with everything from routine maintenance to non-starts, warning lights and involved mechanical faults. Every booking starts with the vehicle, the symptoms and the safest, most cost-effective route to a repair.
Diagnostics & fault finding
Full-system diagnostic scans, warning-light investigation, live-data analysis, electrical testing and structured fault finding rather than simply replacing the first component named by a fault code.
- Engine, transmission, ABS, airbag and body systems
- Intermittent faults and drivability problems
- Sensor plausibility and live-data checks
- Road testing and post-repair verification
Servicing & routine maintenance
Interim, full and major servicing carried out where the vehicle is parked, with maintenance tailored to mileage, age and manufacturer requirements.
- Oil and filter services
- Air, cabin and fuel filters
- Spark plugs and glow plugs
- Belts, hoses and fluid checks
- Brake-fluid and other scheduled maintenance by arrangement
Mechanical repairs
On-site repair of common mechanical failures and worn components, provided the job can be completed safely in a mobile environment.
- Timing belts, timing chains and water pumps
- Turbo, boost and intake faults
- Injectors, fuel-system components and pumps
- Starters, alternators and ancillary drives
- Clutches, driveline and major repairs assessed case-by-case
Battery, starting & electrical
Non-starts and electrical faults can be some of the most frustrating problems. We test the system properly before condemning a battery, starter, alternator or control module.
- Battery health and charging-system testing
- Starter and alternator diagnosis
- Fuse, feed, earth and wiring checks
- Parasitic drain and low-voltage investigations
- Switches, actuators, lighting and electrical accessories
Engine, cooling, fuel & emissions
Diagnosis and repair of the systems that keep the engine running correctly, at the correct temperature and within emissions requirements.
- Coolant leaks, radiators, thermostats and cooling fans
- Fuel pressure, injector and delivery faults
- EGR, DPF, AdBlue and emissions-related faults
- Exhaust and catalytic-converter diagnosis
- Misfires, smoke, poor performance and overheating
Brakes, steering & suspension
Inspection and repair of safety-critical chassis components, with worn parts identified and explained before replacement.
- Brake pads, discs, calipers and related faults
- ABS and wheel-speed sensor diagnosis
- Shocks, springs, arms, bushes and links
- Steering faults and components
- CV joints, driveshafts and wheel-bearing concerns
Roadside assistance & non-starts
When a vehicle will not start or has broken down, the first aim is to diagnose the actual cause and, where possible, get it moving again on scene.
- Roadside diagnostics
- Jump starts and battery-related faults
- Electrical and immobilisation-related investigation
- Minor on-site repair where safe
- Clear recovery or repair advice when an on-scene fix is not possible
Hybrid & electric vehicles
We support modern hybrid and electric vehicles with suitable diagnostics, 12-volt system work and mechanical repairs. High-voltage work is only undertaken where the task, equipment and technician competency allow it to be carried out safely.
- EV/hybrid warning-light diagnostics
- 12V battery and low-voltage faults
- General mechanical and braking work
- Charging and communication fault investigation where supported
Inspections & vehicle health checks
Independent inspections for buyers, owners and businesses who need a clearer picture of a vehicle before making a decision.
- Pre-purchase and post-purchase inspections
- Safety and condition checks
- Diagnostic scans and warning-light checks
- Leak, noise and drivability assessment
- Written findings and repair recommendations where required
A mobile technical partner, not just a call-out mechanic
For trade customers, the value is in giving you enough technical information to make a decision. We can attend individual vehicles or multiple vehicles on site, diagnose faults, carry out approved repairs and provide a structured report that can be passed internally, to a warranty provider or to the end customer.
Dealer & auction-site diagnostics
On-site investigation of warning lights, non-starts, electrical faults, drivability concerns and post-sale issues. Reports can include vehicle details, reported fault, diagnostic steps, DTCs and status, live data, road-test results, interpretation, limitations, safety notes and recommended next steps.
Fleet maintenance & multi-vehicle visits
Planned attendance for businesses that need several vehicles checked, diagnosed or maintained in one visit. We can build a visit around priority vehicles first and then work through additional units efficiently on site.
Warranty & repair-authority work
We can work to an agreed diagnostic or repair authority, record the relevant reference, provide evidence and pricing, and carry out approved work. Where appropriate we can re-attend under repair warranty if the same concern returns.
OEM and aftermarket repair options
Where practical we can provide more than one repair route, including genuine/OEM and quality aftermarket parts, so the authorising party can balance cost, vehicle value, availability and warranty requirements.
Direct end-customer attendance
If a vehicle has already left a dealer or auction site, we can arrange attendance directly with the buyer where geography and authority allow, avoiding unnecessary vehicle movements and helping resolve the concern faster.
Technical reports, photos & repair plans
Our trade reports are designed to be useful to technical teams and accounts departments: clear fault description, evidence, diagnostic reasoning, repair options, labour requirement, parts route and any further investigation needed before committing to a major repair.
Qualified technicians and evidence-led diagnosis
Level 3 automotive qualifications
All Motor Response UK technicians hold Level 3 automotive qualifications. Complex work is approached methodically, with the aim of proving the cause of a fault before recommending expensive components.
- Full-system scan and control-module checks
- Live-data interpretation and plausibility checks
- Voltage, continuity, feed and earth testing
- Mechanical inspection alongside electronic diagnosis
- Road testing and repair verification where safe
Dealer-level diagnostic capability
We use professional multi-make diagnostic equipment and manufacturer-specific software where available. That allows us to go beyond a basic code read and look at system status, live values, actuator behaviour, adaptations and module communication.
- Diagnostic trouble codes with status and context
- Service resets, adaptations and relearns where supported
- Module coding/programming where the vehicle and tooling support it
- Post-repair clearing, verification and retest
From simple maintenance to involved repairs
Not every job belongs at the roadside. We will tell you when a repair is suitable for mobile attendance and when it needs a different working environment. Subject to the vehicle, access and safe working conditions, our wider capability includes:
Engine & driveline
Timing components, cylinder-head related work, turbochargers, engine ancillaries, clutch and driveline faults, differential/axle concerns and major engine work assessed individually.
Electrical & modules
Control-module faults, communication issues, wiring repair, switches, actuators, window/door systems, infotainment-related diagnosis, coding and programming where supported.
Climate & cooling
A/C fault diagnosis, blower and heater faults, cooling-system pressure/leak investigation, radiators, pumps, thermostats and cooling fans. Refrigerant work is carried out only where equipment and vehicle requirements permit.
Tyres, wheels & TPMS
Pressure and puncture-related assistance, TPMS diagnosis and wheel/tyre condition checks. Tyre fitting, balancing or alignment can be arranged where the required equipment and service are available.
Keys, security & accessories
Key-fob batteries, supported programming/adaptation tasks, selected accessory and electrical installations, and investigation of locking or immobilisation concerns.
Performance & unusual faults
Boost leaks, intermittent power loss, unusual noises, smoke, overheating, recurring warning lights and other faults that need a combination of diagnostic data and hands-on inspection.
